Senior Accountant
Our ideal Senior Corporate Accountant candidate has worked in-house for a medium to large size corporation.
You will be responsible for collaborating with a team on financial strategy, financial preparation and analysis, cash flow analysis and accounting practice.
Summary
Responsibilities include overseeing general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions while supporting month-end close and audit processes. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of current accounting experience and possess strong technical and communication skills.
Responsibilities Include
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage accounting operations including month and year-end process, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, depreciation, fixed asset and debt.
- Accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting,
- Support audits by coordinating with external auditors and preparing documentation.
- Monitor internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Partner with Senior team to identify process improvements and enhance efficiency.
Required Experience/Skills
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related industries.
- Familiarity with ERP, Sage, Netsuite, MRI, Oracle, Quickbooks
- Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-team collaboration.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Excel Advanced Microsoft Office
- GAAP understanding
